Chaplin’s classic, The Gold Rush, released in 1925, is one of the greatest silent film comedies.

Seventeen years later, Chaplin undertook cinema’s first real “Director’s Cut” exercise, when he slightly re-edited the film, composed a musical score, and added his own spoken narrative.

The result was the introduction of the sound movie to a new generation of film-goers, and a big commercial success.

This is an original US Lobby Card from that 1942 re-issue from the set of 8 produced for the cinematic release, and featuring Big Jim and the Little Fellow.
