A Countess from Hong Kong

Chaplin’s last film was made in Britain, and starred two of Hollywood’s biggest draws of the time in Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren.

It was criticised as old-fashioned (and was made from a script Chaplin had been toying with for over thirty years), and as putting Brando in a strait jacket, but it’s a nice undemanding watch, with a good supporting cast.

It also benefitted from well produced poster advertising and marketing materials, and this is probably the best of the lot, the original UK (country of origin) Quad poster from the film’s first release in 1967.
