Penned by Neil Simon, Peter Falk (of Columbo fame) is The Cheap Detective, Lou Peckinpaugh, a San Franciso private eye.

Sid Caesar, Dom DeLuise and Ann-Margret (as the fabulously named femme-fatale, Jezebel Dezire) also starred.

The film parodies Bogart in The Maltese Falcon, and sees the inept Peckinpaugh attempting to prove himself innocent of murder.
