The Trouble with Girls
Elvis Presley’s penultimate movie (not counting the live documentaries) was a period tale of a travelling show. Like many of his Hollywood outings, there was an interesting cast list, with John Carradine and Vincent Price both making appearances.
But the reason that this is one of the most sought after original movie posters featuring Elvis is its artwork. Released after Elvis came back to performing live with the 68 Comeback Special, and was looking forwards to his Las Vegas appearances, the look was quintessential Elvis, with the long sideburns and slicked back and quiffed black hair. That’s all the posters needed, and they are really impressive when framed and on a wall.
This is the very rare UK Quad poster, which had a different design from its US counterpart. It’s a great combination of black and white and limited colour, and with the advantage of three images of a guitar playing Elvis.
