The Graduate

SOLD

Dustin Hoffman’s breakthrough movie was 1967’s The Graduate.

Some sixty years later, it holds up really well, and repays repeated viewings.  Oscar winning director, Mike Nicholls, set the tone, with great performances all-round, including the Oscar nominated trio of Hoffman (as Benjamin Braddock, who is a little worried about his future), Anne Bancroft (as Mrs Robinson) and Katharine Ross (as her daughter, Elaine).

Wonderful comedy, and a perfect Simon and Garfunkel based soundtrack.

This is an original US Lobby Card from the very beginning of the movie’s first release, #1 from the set of 8 produced and featuring the leg image in the credits.  All the scenes featured in the Lobby Cards are great, and it’s hard to choose a favourite.  But many people would choose this, with the scene that was also the main poster campaign imagery.
