Sweet Smell of Success
Sweet Smell of Success is a good example of a noir-ish movie, with a jazz score, but with two leading men, neither of whom are particularly attractive characters.
Lancaster exudes power as the Broadway columnist, J J Hunsecker, and while Curtis’ Sidney Falco has his attractive moments, he’s mainly sleazy and obsequious.
“Match me, Sidney”
The original US One Sheet poster has lots of fans – there are a couple of small images featuring the women, but it is dominated by the larger than life Lancaster and Curtis.
