Walt Disney’s adaptation of the classic Italian story by Carlo Collodi about a woodcarver who wishes the puppet he has created could become a real boy was the studio’s second full length animated film.

Released in 1940 the film won two Oscars for its music – one for the score as a whole, and the other for the song ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’.    And although not a commercial success on its first release, over the course of regular cinematic re-releases the film gained a loyal following of fans and is now considered to be one of the finest animated films ever made.

This is an original UK Front of House Lobby Card (measuring 8″x10″) from the film’s cinematic re-release in the 1960s, and is a nice image of the family on the ocean.
