My Man Godfrey

Re-make of the 1936 film starring Wiliam Powell and Carol Lombard.

In this 1957, Henry Koster directed, version June Allyson plays Irene Bullock, a spoiled young heiress who decides to rescue down-and-out Godfrey (Niven) and install him as the new butler in the family’s New York mansion.

Irene’s parents (played by Jessie Royce Landis and Robert Keith) are not at all happy about this, and even less so when Irene starts to fall for Godfrey.

But all is not as it seems and Godfrey has a secret.
