The classic example of screwball comedy, 1938’s Bringing Up Baby starred Katharine Hepburn as a wealthy heiress pursuing the affections of Cary Grant as a paleontologist (decades before Ross in Friends).

Original cinema advertising materials for the original 1938 release of Bringing Up Baby are gold dust.  They hardly ever come on the market and when they do, they command premium prices, as a result of the age and cult status of the movie, combined with the fact that it wasn’t a commercial success at the time, so very few posters and lobby cards actually went into circulation.

This is a rare lobby card from the original set of 8 from 1938.  Charlie Ruggles features in the scene, and the fantastic border artwork has everything, showing the cartoon versions of Grant, Hepburn, Baby and George (complete with brontosaurus bone) that graced the main poster advertising campaign at the time.
