The Concert for Bangladesh

Long before Live Aid came Ravi Shankar and George Harrison’s benefit concert to help the relief fund for the estimated 10 million refugees of the war.

Filmed at Madison Square Garden, also on stage were Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Leon Russell, Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, Badfinger and Ali Akbar Khan.

Revenue from a  combination of  ticket sales, the documentary and  a live album resulted in an estimated $12 million of relief being sent to the region as of 1985.
