The Night Porter

1974’s Franco Italian production is one of the darkest of Dirk Bogarde’s career.

Starting out as a leading man in popular light British comedies, Bogarde increasingly took on what he saw as more challenging work.  This story of the relationship between a concentration camp survivor and guard is one of the most challenging.
