Stage Fright

Alfred Hitchcock’s classic era was probably the 1950s and early 1960s, when he controlled all the aspects of his movies, a true auteur.

This film is one he made in 1950 at Warners, and is less well known and a little different.

Whilst still unmistakably a Hitchcock work, and with a strong cast and a lot of (mainly British) support, there is probably more character than usual mixed in with the mystery, and a lead performance from Marlene Dietrich which was apparently one into which she was permitted to input her own ideas.
