Dustin Hoffman’s breakthrough movie was 1967’s The Graduate.

Over fifty years later, it holds up really well, and repays repeated viewings.  Oscar winning director, Mike Nicholls, set the tone, with great performances all-round, including the Oscar nominated trio of Hoffman (as Benjamin Braddock, who is a little worried about his future), Anne Bancroft (as Mrs Robinson) and Katharine Ross (as her daughter, Elaine).

Wonderful comedy, and a perfect Simon and Garfunkel based soundtrack.

Original film marketing materials for this title are very collectable, and becoming increasingly difficult to come by.  The Lobby Card set of 8 from the film’s first release (and before it was Oscar-nominated) is in our view one of the finest sets ever produced.  There isn’t a single scene which isn’t iconic and/or really evocative of the film.

And there are so many candidates for the “best of the set”.  This is Card #7, capturing Benjamin’s arrival at the church.
