Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope

Star Wars – or to give it it’s newer title – Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope was the first film in the franchise.  It was an immediate and massive success both critically and commercially, going on to win 6 Academy Awards.

It featured an old fashioned story, new young actors (and some elder statesmen), great make up and amazing special effects.

Nowadays its hard to imagine quite how ground breaking it was, from the robots – R2-D2 and C-3PO – to the cute creatures and animals, think Chewbacca.  And let’s not forget the terrifying Darth Vader.

This is an original UK Quad poster with the memorable artwork by Tom Chantrell and in fantastic condition.  The film was still in cinemas on first release when the Oscars were announced, and so reference to its 7 wins were then incorporated into the posters.
