22 years after he was institutionalised because of the events shown in Hitchcock’s classic thriller, Norman Bates is declared sane and safe, and returns to his old home and the Bates Motel.
Cue more murders, and the suspicion that Mother is also back.
What sounded like a potentially tacky attempt to produce a sequel without Hitchcock turned out much better than many had feared. Anthony Bates slips effortlessly back into the skin of Norman, and Vera Miles is also back from the first movie.
