1960 saw the release of two very different (but both disturbing in their own ways) early “slasher” movies.
Hitchcock’s Psycho was massively popular and has remained so.
The reputation of Michael Powell’s Peeping Tom is rather narrower, if a little deeper. It’s the sort of film that appears at film festivals, BFI seasons, university film club screenings, film studies courses, and the like.
We’ll leave you to decide which you prefer, but we note that another similarity is the collectability of their original movie posters. This British Quad is the much sought after UK (country of origin) version, with its stark but arresting imagery, conveying so much so simply.
