Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House

The film that you don’t want to watch if you’re contemplating a building project or home renovation!

Re-made with Tom Hanks as The Money Pit in the 1980s, this, from 1984, is by far the better film.  A great comedy with some romance, sparkling performances from Cary Grant as advertising man, Mr Blandings, and Myrna Loy as Mrs Blandings, keen to get out of their New York apartment and to the country, and stellar support from both Melvyn Douglas as their best friend, and Reginald Denny as their architect.

The film enjoyed a re-release in 1954, just six years after its initial release.

This is Card #6 from the set of 8 produced for that re-release.  The scenes in this set are, like the 1948 release, all great.  But some people prefer this set because it is in a nice two colour design, and also benefits from fun border artwork of the main stars (Jim, Muriel, Bill and the house itself).
