A nice re-working of My Favourite Wife has Doris Day as the wife who returns after years on a desert island to find that her husband, James Garner, has had her declared dead and is preparing to re-marry. It was released on Christmas Day in 1963 in the US, going into general distribution in 1964.

The film looks great, and has aged well, with not only the attractive Day/Garner pairing but also a fine supporting cast, including Thelma Ritter and Chuck Connors.  Not forgetting that theme song, of course.

This vintage US Half Sheet poster from the film’s first cinema release is a rarer format, and features shots from the movie as well as good portraits of Day, Garner and Bergen.
