The Marx Brothers as a team retired from films (for the second time) after 1946’s A Night in Casablanca.
Before the end of the decade, Harpo and Chico were making another feature. The funding was in trouble, and the solution came in the form of a) some imaginative product placement in the film’s rooftop sequences, and b) signing on Groucho. He only appeared briefly, but also added the voiceover narrative, and this was enough to convert it to a Marx Brothers film. It also featured Marilyn Monroe in a very small early role (and when it was re-released in 1953, it was then also billed as The Picture that Discovered Marilyn Monroe).
Original cinema advertising posters and other materials for the original release are rare, and this is a nice example of a Lobby Card from the set of 8 produced at the time. It is Card #2, and features Groucho and Harpo, as well as all three brothers in the cartoon border artwork, based on the main poster imagery.
