Death Wish

Michael Winner’s Death Wish, released in the US in 1974 and the UK in 1975, was the first of what became a 5 movie series, and was without doubt the best.

A violent film for sure, but one which was topical in 1970s NYC, with Charles Bronson starring as an architect whose life is turned upside down by violent crime, leading him to turn to vigilantism.
