A Clockwork Orange

Released at the end of 1971-early 1972 audiences were profoundly shocked by this dystopian crime drama, and it was banned in several countries. Famously Kubrick himself requested it be withdrawn from UK cinemas.

He subsequently decided to cut 30 seconds from the film and in the US it was re-released in early 1973 with an ‘R’ rating, rather than the ‘X’ rating it received on first release.

Each of the lobby cards incorporates the artwork from the main poster campaign as well as a scene from the film.
