1965’s The Ipcress File, adapted from the Len Deighton novel and directed by Sidney J. Furie, introduced us to Harry Palmer (played by Michael Caine).

Palmer, a British agent, was designed to be the antithesis of that other well known British agent, the suave and sophisticated 007.

Nigel Green, Guy Doleman, Gordon Jackson and Sue Lloyd also starred in the film which received mixed reviews upon release, but has since come to be seen as a classic, coming in at 59 in the British Film Institute’s 100 best British films of the 20th century.

Original posters for the first cinema release are becoming very hard to find.  To our way of thinking, the art in this original US One Sheet is the best for this title.
