Michael Caine starred in this 1966 film as a womanising young man living a carefree life in swinging Sixties London.

Julia Foster, Shelley Winters and Millicent Martin were just some of his conquests.

Despite – or perhaps because of – its rather controversial theme the film was well received, and Lewis Gilbert, who went on to direct several of the Bond films, won his only Oscar nomination for his direction.
