A nice re-working of My Favourite Wife has Doris Day as the wife who returns after years on a desert island to find that her husband, James Garner, has had her declared dead and is preparing to re-marry. It was released on Christmas Day in 1963 in the US, going into general distribution in 1964.
The film looks great, and has aged well, with not only the attractive Day/Garner pairing but also a fine supporting cast, including Thelma Ritter and Chuck Connors. Not forgetting that theme song, of course.
This vintage US Lobby Card, #2 in the set of 8 from the film’s first cinema release, has a fun shot of Doris while marooned, as well as featuring a number of photos from the movie as part of its border artwork.
