Anatomy of a Murder
A controversial film in its day, mainly because of the language used, and it’s still gripping and highly watchable.
James Stewart is on top form (receiving one of the movie’s seven unsuccessful Oscar nominations) as the defence lawyer with a client accused of murder (and his wife), who may well be guilty.
Many people believe this is director, Oscar Preminger’s, best film, and it’s a tense courtroom drama, with a nice jazz score to boot.
Original cinema movie posters for this film are highly sought after, not just because of the film, but largely because its artwork was produced by the great graphic designer, Saul Bass, and is instantly recognisable and one of his finest cinematic designs.
This original US Half sheet is the rare Style B design, showcasing the cast (behind an evocative striped black/blind effect) as well as the signature Saul Bass movie art of the murder victim.
This poster is in very good original condition. It was never folded, and has just a few minor markings, consistent with its age. It also has an original Adult Entertainment snipe.
