Still one of the best loved Superman movies, this was the first starring Christopher Reeve in the lead role.
It also boasted a big budget, a story by Godfather author Mario Puzo, a strong supporting cast (including Glenn Ford) and an overpaid extended cameo from Marlon Brando as Jor-El.
None of the cast featured in the main cinema advertising for the film – they didn’t need to, as the S logo and the tag-line conveyed everything that the audience needed to know.
The original set of 8 Lobby Cards produced for the film’s first release all contain good scenes, as well as featuring the main poster imagery as their border artwork. This is Card #2 from that set.
