The third iteration of the story, so by now we all know the plot: Barbra Streisand stars in this 1976 version as Esther, a talented singer struggling to find fame and Kris Kristofferson plays the troubled, past his prime, rock star.
The story may not have been new but casting two real-life singing stars ensured fabulous musical numbers and an Oscar win for Streisand’s ‘Evergreen’, and the film became the second highest-grossing film of the year.
The original lobby cards for the film combined some of the main poster campaign artwork with scenes from the film.
