Made a couple of years after his death, this 1973 documentary features fantastic footage from some of his iconic performances – the Monterey Pop Festival, the Isle of Wight Festival and Woodstock to name but three.

And it’s also fascinating to hear some of his contemporaries – including Jagger, Clapton and Lou Reed amongst others –  talking about him.
