Still performing live around the world in sell-out tours more than sixty years after their first performances, the Rolling Stones are arguably the most famous English rock band of all time.  From their original 1962 line-up, only Mick Jagger and Keith Richards remain although both Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman joined within a few months.  Brian Jones who was also part of the original line-up died in 1969 (sadly becoming another member of the 27 Club).

This collection of images was taken by Paul Popper, the Czech photo-journalist who founded Popperfoto.  Taken in 1963/4 these images show the band variously, on stage, with their tour bus and some individual band member shots.

About The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. As a diverging act to the popular pop rock of the early 1960s, the Rolling Stones pioneered the gritty, heavier-driven sound that came to define hard rock.
