Without doubt, one of the all-time classic stage and screen musicals.

The updating of Romeo and Juliet, brought to the streets of New York with the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks challenging the young lovers.

The original screen adaptation in 1961 almost swept the Oscar board, winning 10 awards, and the film remains incredibly popular as it has been re-released in the cinema, and on VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray and streaming, and has itself been re-made in 2021.

This is an original US Lobby Card from the movie’s cinematic re-release in 1968, with a tag-line reminding audiences of its 10 Oscar haul, and a typically vibrant dance scene.  Unlike the cards produced in 1961, the 1968 materials are in full colour.
