Thunderbirds are Go

The first cinematic outing for Gerry Anderson’s greatest creation (as will be confirmed by anyone who was a child in the mid 1960s when it first hit the tv screens, or nearly 40 years later when it came out again for a new generation).

The film had a plot about Martians, but for most of us, it was another opportunity to be enthralled by the 5 Tracy brothers, their father Jeff, and the fabulous Thunderbirds rescue vehicles, designed by the inimitable Brains.  And Lady Penelope and Parker.  And the Hood.  Not forgetting Tintin and Kyrano.  Or Grandma.

This also had an appearance in puppet form of Cliff Richard Jr (voiced by Cliff Richard) and lots of fun.

The original US movie posters probably featured a non-Thunderbird spacecraft and the aliens in greater prominence than we might have chosen, but there is still enough original Thunderbirds action and imagery here to make this a lovely poster for children young and old.
