Star Wars – or to give it it’s newer title – Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope was the first film in the franchise.  It was an immediate and massive success both critically and commercially, going on to win 6 Academy Awards.

It featured an old fashioned story, new young actors (and some elder statesmen), great make up and amazing special effects.

Nowadays its hard to imagine quite how ground breaking it was, from the robots – R2-D2 and C-3PO – to the cute creatures and animals, think Chewbacca.  And let’s not forget the terrifying Darth Vader.

All original Star Wars movie posters are very sought after, especially those from the first three films released, with the first film being the most collectable.

This is an original UK Quad poster from its first release, but after the Oscars had been announced, and features the much loved artwork by the great British artist, Thomas Chantrell.  It is becoming much harder to come by, and its value has consequently increased considerably in the last couple of years.
