Silent Movie

Mel Brooks probably won’t go down in cinema history as a comic genius or great director.

But the truth is that in the seventies he made a string of comedies that were clever pastiches (High Anxiety is a very smart take on Hitchcock), and that were also very funny, and deservedly popular at the box office.

In 1976 he turned from horror and westerns to Hollywood and comedy itself.  Silent Movie was indeed a silent movie (its one word of dialogue coming from the mime, Marcel Marceau), with plenty of colour, music, cameo appearances and laughs.

This original US Half Sheet, one of the less common formats for film advertising posters but a nice size for home display, is in very good original condition, and was never folded.
