“Nothing can faze Modesty Blaise” reads the tagline on this US poster for the 1966 spy spoof whose eponymous character started out life as a comic strip character in London’s Evening Standard newspaper in 1963.
Glamorous Italian actress Monica Vitti plays the role of Modesty who thinks she has been brought in by the British government to help disrupt a diamond heist, and enlists her old friend Willie (Terence Stamp) to help out. However, things don’t go quite as she had imagined.
Dirk Bogarde plays the would be diamond thief.
Fantastic 1960s poster art by renowned artist Bob Peak.
