Lawrence of Arabia

A true example of classic cinema.

David Lean’s  1962 dramatisation of the story of T E Lawrence was the real breakthrough film of Peter O’Toole, but his wasn’t the only great performance.  The supporting cast is also excellent, and the film won 7 Oscars.

The enduring popularity of the movie helps to make original cinema advertising pieces very popular, and the main poster’s depiction of the face of O’Toole as Lawrence is surely one of the best known of all poster images.

This is an original US Lobby Card from the set of 8 produced for the film’s first release.  As well as featuring an evocative desert battle scene, it also benefits from the Lawrence/O’Toole image as its border artwork.
